Fetal Development on Week 14
Fetus at Week 14The baby now weighs 1-2 ounces and is roughly 3 and a half inches long. The baby's head can move away from it's chest as the neck grows and gets longer. The hands and fingers are getting their function and the baby will move them around. The heartbeat can easily be heard through a doppler and seen through an ultrasound. The baby is now receiving nourishment totally from the placenta.
Maternal Changes on Week 14
Your body has been preparing for breastfeeding since you became pregnant and your areolas may become larger and darker. You should also have noticed more veins around your chest. Your hormone levels are stabilizing and you should be experiencing less fatigue and nausea.
