Fetal Development on Week 9
Fetus at Week 9The baby is now the size of an olive, it is getting quite large! Cartilage and bones are forming as well as the fingers and thumb, though they are short and webbed. The intestines were in the umbilical cord but are now moving into the abdomen because there is enough room now. The tongue is starting to develop and the structure of the eyeballs are forming as well. The baby will make small fetal movements as the muscles are formed better which can be seen on an ultrasound.
Maternal Changes on Week 9
Your breasts will be larger now that you are about two months pregnant, and they will be very sensitive. Your waist will also be extended out further and hormones may now be causing heartburn and indigestion.
